In 1992 Thomas Hennessy Jr. founded International Awareness Day for Chronic Immunological and Neurological Diseases. To commemorate Awareness Day 2022 we are delighted to have Dr. Sarah Myhill speaking about the role of the mitochondria in disorders such as long-COVID, ME, Fibromyalgia, Lyme Disease, EDS, PANS/PANDAS, Autism, MCS, MCAS. She also discusses ways in which we can improve the function of our mitochondria.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

DR. SARAH MYHILL MBBS qualified in Medicine (with honours) from the Middlesex Hospital Medical School in 1981 and has since focused tirelessly on identifying and treating the underlying causes of health problems. She has worked in the NHS and private practice and for 17 years was the Honorary Secretary of the British Society for Ecological Medicine, which focuses on the causes of disease and treating through diet, vitamins and minerals and through avoiding toxic stress. She is a founder member of OPUS (organophosphate users support group) – a charity to help sufferers of pesticide poisoning. Dr Myhill is also now a Patron of the College of Naturopathic medicine and was recently presented with their Outstanding Contribution in the field of Natural Medicine Award 2022.

GILIAN CROWTHER MA (Oxon), Dip NT/ND, FBANT, CNHC reg., is a Naturopath and registered Nutritional Therapist with a clinic in London. She gained qualifications in complementary therapy in Germany for many years, studying the mitochondria in particular, before taking up further training in the UK. Gilian is Director of Research for the Academy of Nutritional Medicine as well as a core member of the BSEM (British Society for Ecological Medicine)
