World Encephalitis Day 2023
Published on 21 February, 2023
World Encephalitis Day is observed globally every year on February 22nd to raise awareness about encephalitis, a serious and potentially life-threatening inflammation of the brain.
On World Encephalitis Day 2023, organisations and individuals around the world will come together to promote understanding of encephalitis and the potentially devastating impact it can have on individuals and families. Activities will include educational events, fundraising initiatives, social media campaigns, and advocacy efforts to increase awareness and support for those affected by encephalitis.
HERE ARE 5 FACTS ABOUT ENCEPHALITIS:
Amazingly, the Encephalitis Society is lighting up 190 landmarks and buildings across 28 countries to raise awareness!
These include Niagara Falls, the Liver Building in Liverpool, England, the Jet d’Eau in Geneva, Switzerland, Dancing House in Prague, Czech Republic, as well as several hospitals and health clinics in the USA, Cambodia, and Scotland.
If you or someone you know has been affected by encephalitis, World Encephalitis Day can be a valuable opportunity to connect with others who understand what you’re going through and to learn more about the resources available to help you manage the condition.
